Investigation of factors affecting hearing loss of open pit coal mine employees with categorical data analyses

One of the most important occupational diseases encountered in mining is noise induced hearing loss (NIHL). In this study, analyses were carried out to examine NIHL open pit lignite mine Turkey. The was evaluated accordance with miners’ age, experience, occupation, exposure value (Lex), and maximum level (Lpeak). Noise levels exposed employees measured dosimeters a test applied by special center. To determine parameters that could be effective NIHL, all obtained data logistic regression analysis (LRA) hierarchical log-linear (HLA) methods. It determined probability field staff approximately 6 times higher than operators drivers. According 21-29 age group, it found 57-65 48-56 group 11.4 4.41 higher, respectively. Experience loss. Besides these, interactions age×experience, occupation×maximum levels, occupation×average increased likelihood NIHL. A model has been developed for estimation problem mostly those working field. varied according groups.
